Lower-Level Conversion

Situated on a beautiful, secluded lot, this lower-level full-gut remodeling project was designed to meet the in-law requirements of the new homeowners. Designed and built by Gold Beech Construction, the entire floor plan was reconfigured from a discontinuous au-pair accommodation into a fully functional age-in-place suite, complete with a primary bedroom, walk-in closet, full bathroom, living room, full kitchen, sitting room, and laundry room. Each room was meticulously and intentionally designed to maximize the space and increase the comfort of the occupants. Large appliances such as the dishwasher, washer, and dryer were strategically mounted to reduce the need for unnecessary bending or uncomfortable movements while doorways and means of egress were formatted to prepare for future in-home assistance; all while retaining ADA clearances. Paired with a multitude of French doors and matching full-height windows that flood the rooms with natural light, this extensive conversion redefines what is possible with lower-level living.
